Deep Space Gong Workshop

New to gongs and want to learn more? Been playing for years and looking for the next piece to add to your rig? This is a chance to spend time with a wide variety of gongs and mallets. John’s extensive collection of gongs couples with his mallet business gives him an unique perspective to gong playing. Playing styles, mallet and Flumie techniques, and pairing gongs will be covered in the workshop.

This is a rare opportunity to play and purchase a wide array of gongs. Bronze gongs, nickel silver gongs, and stainless steel gongs will be available in a variety of sizes. Participants will have the opportunity to play instruments from Gong makers such as Grotta Sonora, Shawn Aceto, Ryan Shelledy, and others.
